Step-through frames are also better suited for shorter riders, as the top tube of a step-over frame may make it difficult for them to stand over it comfortably.

If a bike is going to be shared among family members with different genders and heights, a step-through frame is recommended. Additionally, if you plan on carrying a surfboard on your bike, a step-through frame is better since you won't have to step over the frame and the surfboard rack each time you want to get on or off the bike.

However, it's important to note that some customers prefer the look of a step-over bike. Furthermore, a top tube can be useful if you need to mount a child seat at the front or carry cargo, or if you want to attach various accessories to the frame.
